Code of Conduct Season 2025
When you register to play with Dunedin City Royals FC (or you register your child to play), you become a member of our Club with all of the rights and responsibilities of membership.
Dunedin City Royals FC is an Incorporated Society with a Constitution that sets out the Club’s rules. One of those rules are that all members will abide by the Club’s Code of Conduct.
Our Club is run by volunteers who all give up their time and energy to ensure the Club operates efficiently. We therefore, expect all of our members to contribute towards making our Club successful both on and off the field.
Here are some of the ways in which we expect our members to help: ALL MEMBERS.
REGISTER
Register using Friendly Manager.
Pay subs (and misconduct fines) in full or by making payments promptly
PARTICIPATE
Volunteer to be a game leader, coach or manage a team; or actively support the game leader/coach/manager
HELP
Collect, put up and return nets
Take responsibility for keeping Club facilities clean and tidy
Assist with putting up and taking down posts at the start and end of the season
SUPPORT
Our sponsors and partners by supporting their businesses (e.g. by having end of season break ups at venues that support our Club)
Returning our playing strip at the end of the season
Abide by the Club’s Code of Conduct
JUNIOR PLAYERS AND PARENTS
Engage, take part in team photos.
Attend prizegiving where possible.
Help with sausage sizzles and other fundraisers
Support Club day and Club Rooms where appropriate
Support our Senior Men’s and Women’s teams at home games
SENIOR PLAYERS
Engage, attend Club Rooms regularly
Attend end of year prizegiving, fundraisers and social functions
Support our Junior and Youth teams by helping with coaching or mentorinG
All sanctions related to dissent and violent conduct will be payable by the individual members who receive these sanctions, these will be due and payable within 14 days of invoicing.
Terms & Conditions
We expect all of our members (players, parents, coaches and spectators) to abide by our Code of Conduct.
When you join our club, you also agree to abide by the New Zealand Football (NZF) Code of Conduct – a full copy of this is available on the NZF website.

OUR MEMBERS MUST:
Respect the rights, dignity and worth of others.
Be fair, considerate, and honest in all dealings with others.
Be professional in and accept responsibility for their actions.
Not use obscene language.
Not engage in any conduct which is abusive, threatening or which constitutes harassment.
Not discriminate against others.
Not victimize others.
Be positive role models.
Promote the interests of football.
Comply with all relevant standards, rules, regulations and policies and laws. • Operate within the Statutes, Regulations, Policies and Procedures of NZF and FIFA.
Not act in any way that may bring disrepute or disgrace to Dunedin City Royals FC, Football South or NZF.
OUR PLAYERS MUST:
DECISIONS
Accept the decision of the match official without question.
Respect Treat opponents and officials with respect.
FAIR PLAY
Play fairly and without danger to opponents.
DISCIPLINE
Keep your temper under control in all circumstances.
SPORTSMANSHIP
Not cheat under the guise of “gamesmanship”.
Attend seminars and abide by the Integrity and Drug Free Expectations and Regulations
BEHAVIOUR
Always behave professionally, both on and off the field, always listen to your coaches and managers and demonstrate self-control.
COACHES
Respect coaches and their decisions.
COVID-19

Dunedin City Royals FC will continue to follow all guidance from Sport New Zealand, New Zealand Football and Southern Football.
In simple terms, if you are sick, or have contracted Covid19, please do not attend any football or club related activity until you are well again. This is to prevent passing on any illness to others. Our aim is to have a safe season this year with minimal impact to others.
